We all dream of healthy and glowing skin, no matter what season it is. But it is really hard to maintain both our skin and diet at an extreme temperature.

In summers, our skin is prone to many problems like sunburns, itchy rashes, and whatnot.

So here are a few ways to beat the heat and get healthy and glowing in summer.

1.  STAY HYDRATED-WATER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND IN SUMMER

Drink plenty of water may be a line everyone has heard a million times but often fail to do.

Hence carrying around a water bottle along with you, wherever you go and sipping it when your thirsty helps you stay hydrated and fresh.

 

2. USE SUNSCREEN OR SUNBLOCK

In summers, our skin experiences irritation due to the high exposure of sun and UV rays. It is very important to use a sunblock or a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 30. Now bear in mind that you can use a physical sunscreen or a chemical one whichever suits you the best.

A physical sunscreen acts as a protective layer and reflects the sun rays and is better for sensitive skin whereas the latter one is better for water sport activities and for those who sweat more.

 

3. MINIMAL MAKEUP IS THE KEY

Avoid heavy and high coverage foundations as they may melt and spoil your look, instead go for tinted moisturizers that have a medium coverage which helps to conceal dark spots and other imperfections.

Keep your lips moisturized with a lip balm as they often tend to get chapped in summer and no one ever likes chapped lips. Use more of a gloss than matte lipsticks as they don’t dry out your lips.

 

4. FACIAL MISTS ARE THE SAVIORS

Sometimes summers can be really brutal. Hence it is really important to keep a travel-friendly face mist in your handbag.

Healthy fruit and vegetable juices will help detox your body. Try consuming food items that are rich in VITAMIN C as like citrus fruits, fishes, pineapple and more fermented vegetables.

As vitamin C helps in the production of collagen, fight anti-aging and wrinkles it leaves smooth, plump and younger-looking skin.

 

6. YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHANGE YOUR SKINCARE

In summers, it is better to go with a moisturizer that has a lighter consistency and not the heavy formula one. Many times people complain of having breakouts due to thick and heavy formula creams which makes their skin more oily.

It is better to use a moisturizer with SPF 30 if you don’t want to apply an extra layer of sunscreen.
